In 1789, the French people took inspiration from the United States and started their own revolution. In that spirit, startup Vision Automotive is looking to revolutionize the French auto industry while recalling the country’s motoring history with the biomethane-fueled 1789 hypercar. The sleek car’s design draws heavily from another French landmark — the 24 Hours of Le Mans. The heavily sculpted shape and bubble cockpit recall the prototype race cars of the recent past and present. Welter Recherche Technologie Industrie will be providing the engine and driveline components, with the biomethane fuel gives the thrilling sound of internal combustion without the pollutants. Vision is headed by a former Peugeot designer and has high-profile partnerships with the likes of Michelin, making the company one to look out for in the future.
